ARTIST WEBSITE:
TRACK LISTING I’m All Right Summer Wind Blue Alert Everybody’s Talking River (duet with K.D. Lang) A Little Bit Once In A While Looking For (The Heart Of Saturday Night) Half The Perfect World La Javanese California Rising Smile Madeleine Peyroux’s new album of love songs Half the Perfect World – the smoky voiced singer, guitarist and songwriter’s follow-up to her million selling 2004 breakthrough CD Careless Love— will be released on 28th August. Half the Perfect World showcases Peyroux’s uncanny gift for exploring the emotional core of songs by other singers and songwriters she’s admired, and also displays her talents as a writer on four songs she Many of the albums’ songs explore romantic relationships from a distinctly female perspective. As Peyroux says “These love songs come from an extremely personal place, and therefore allowed me a most intimate reading.” Produced by Larry Klein, the 12-track album finds Peyroux lending her sublime vocals to songs by artists she has cherished throughout her lifetime such Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Fred Neil and Joni Mitchell (“River,” on a duet k.d. lang). Peyroux wrote the upbeat “I’m All Right” with Klein and Steely Dan’s Walter Becker, and three other songs with Klein and Jesse Harris (who co-wrote “Don’t Wait Too Long” on Careless Love). Madeleine Peyroux is a Gold selling artist in Australia. She has performed in Australia to sold out crowds with critical acclaim. This new album is very smooth and well produced. It features some clever covers and some penned originals. Both Jazz experts and crossover fans will love this album. TRACK LISTING The Plum Blossom Blues for the Orient Ching Miau Don't Blame Me Love Theme from Spartacus Snafu Purple Flower Love Theme from The Robe The Three Faces of Balal Yusef Lateef is a Grammy Award-winning composer, performer, recording artist, author, educator and philosopher who has been a major force on the international musical scene for more than six decades. He is universally acknowledged as one of the great living masters and innovators in the African American tradition of autophysiopsychic music -- that which comes from one's spiritual, physical and emotional self. As a virtuoso on a broad spectrum of reed instruments -- tenor saxophone, flute, oboe, bamboo flute, shanai, shofar, argol, sarewa, and taiwan koto -- Yusef Lateef has introduced delightful new sounds and blends of tone colors to audiences all over the world. The music is as fresh and refreshing today as it was on the day it was recorded. And it will appeal to many people who do not normally consider themselves to be jazz fans. Listeners who already know Lateef will need little convincing to buy this CD. Yusef will be touring Australia in 2006. |

TRACK LISTING Feeling Good End Of The Line But Beautiful Rio De Janiero Blue Lovetown See Line Woman Tell Me More And More And Then Some Everybody's Talking When I Need You Save Your Love For Me Last Night At Danceland All Night Long Mr. Ugly It is safe to say that Feeling Good, Randy Crawford and Joe Sample's new duet album, has been 30 years in the making. Indeed it was 30 years ago that Joe and Randy first met during the recording of her debut album, Everything Must Change, on which Joe played. Shortly thereafter, while writing songs for his band - The Crusaders - Joe invited Randy to appear as a guest on their record, and wrote "Street Life" especially for her. Of course the rest is history. "Street Life" became an international hit record for the Crusaders, and launched Randy on her own phenomenally successful career. They continued their collaboration thru the early 80's, Joe playing on Randy's own albums and writing numerous of her biggest hit songs, including "One Day I'll Fly Away," "When Your Life Was Low," "Last Night At Danceland." When producer Tommy LiPuma (2 time Grammy winner for Album of The Year Award, and recipient of over 30 Grammy nominations and awards) came on board as producer of Randy's own break through album, Secret Combination, the seed for Feeling Good had indeed taken root. So it was only natural when Joe asked Randy if she would record a new album with him, that he (Joe) would asked Tommy LiPuma if he would join in as well. And of course, as Al Schmitt (15 time Grammy Award winner as "Recording Engineer/Mixer") had recorded and mixed all the early success with Tommy, Randy, and Joe, there was no one else to call. The result, without a doubt, is a CD you cannot stop listening to. |

TRACK LISTING Interlude I Reverb Got Soul Cachaca Back Again Break Out She's Hooked Crosstown Traffic Take It Easy Vapor What Can You Do Interlude II Freedom Glad Ta Know Ya 30 Interlude III Back Again - Remix Left Behind It was spring of 1999. Drummer Alan Evans and his organist brother Neal invited guitarist Eric Krasno to come up to their house in Woodstock, NY, to cut some tracks in their home studio. They had a simple idea--bring jazz back to the dance floor. In the years since, their blend of soul, jazz and hip-hop has done exactly that, attracting throngs of fans around the world and the respect of musicians from every genre. They called their idea Soulive. Right away it was clear that there was something magic about Soulive and the band's style of music. They played retro instruments and wore vintage suits. The sound was anything but old, however. The beats were hard and funky, and the bass shook the club. The melodies were soulful and memorable. And, it caught on. Within a year of coming together, the trio was playing in front of large audiences at sell-out concerts across the United States, and had signed a deal with Blue Note Records. From there, they went on the road with the Dave Matthews Band , The Rolling Stones , The Roots , and India.aire, and recorded two highly acclaimed studio albums. Now, after three long years of touring, writing and recording, Soulive is back with Break Out, the band's debut release for the Concord Music Group. With it, Alan, Neal and Eric deliver their most creative, crafted and cathartic recording to date.
