For the first time during his historic career the world’s best selling tenor, Andrea Bocelli, will be releasing a collection of his greatest hits. The Best Of Andrea Bocelli – Vivere, will be released on Sugar Music/Decca, marking a decade of chart-topping albums that has made him a household name and beloved cultural figure the world over.

The Best Of Andrea Bocelli - Vivere will feature selections from Bocelli’s wildly popular recordings including Romanza, certified 4 times platinum, Sogno certified 2 times platinum, and his most recent platinum disc, Amore. Highlightsinclude “Time To Say Goodbye” his breakthrough smash with Sarah Brightman, “The Prayer,” another duet made famous with Celine Dion, and the more recent Bocelli staples “Because We Believe” and “Besame Mucho” among others. Several new tracks are also exclusively available on Vivere, including new compositions by the renowned and accomplished David Foster, who also holds producing credits on the songs and was one of the creative forces behind Amore. Other notable guests on the disc include the acclaimed classical pianist Lang Lang and Latin singing sensation Laura Pausini.

2007 is already shaping up to be another banner year for Bocelli. In July, the superstar staged his first-ever, pop only, live concert set in the stunning hills of Tuscany, which will be broadcast on PBS this December. Andrea continues to be one of PBS’ most visible artists, with this being the follow-up to the Emmy-nominated “Under The Desert Sky” special which aired in 2006. Bocelli also appears on the forthcoming new album from Chris Botti, Italia, to be released in September. This fall, Andrea returns to the U.S. for another round of high-profile promotional appearances, as well as several concerts in support of the greatest hits collection – dates to be announced soon.

Vivere, meaning “to live,” is certainly something Andrea Bocelli does to his fullest. Having sold over 55 million albums worldwide, he continues to display a singularly unique ability to straddle both pop and classical repertoire with sincerity, conviction, grace and his unmistakable soaring tenor. One of the most sought after performers in the world, he has recorded duets with the biggest names in music including Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder, Katharine McPhee, Kenny G and the aforementioned Brightman, Botti and Dion. A media darling who has appeared everywhere from American Idol to the Today Show multiple times, he has been called “one of opera’s most successful crossover stars” by The Wall Street Journal.

Debut album from the sensational soprano star of Glyndebourne's Giulio Cesare.

The debut solo recording from Danielle de Niese, who became a star overnight after her stunning 'all singing, all dancing' performance as Cleopatra in Handel's Giulio Cesare at Glyndebourne in 2005.

Danielle signs a selection of Handel arias from both famous and lesser-known works which showcase perfectly her extraordinary dramatic range and vocal abilities.
Revered Handel specialist William Christie conducts the award-winning period orchestra Les Arts Florissants.

After her Glyndebourne success, the role of Cleopatra has become Danielle's calling card and she has repeated it to great critical acclaim at New York's Metropolitan Opera. The production goes to Chicago in October of this year.

At the age of 19, Danielle was the youngest ever member of the Met's Young Artist Programme, and made her debut there as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro (with Bartoli, Fleming and Terfel). Since then, her career rise has been meteoric and she has gained a reputation as an unparalleled singing actress of the baroque repertoire, performing with many of the great exponents of the baroque and classical repertoire, including Minkowski, Christie and Rousset.

Spectacular solo Bach with a chamber music twist!

‘These pieces are not played enough They deserve to be played! They are such wonderful, genius pieces.’ Janine Jansen on Bach's Inventions

Fresh from a triumphant concerto recording featuring Mendelssohn and Bruch, the pillars of the Romantic violin repertoire, Janine Jansen reverts to the roots of violin playing, and the music of Bach. She brings a characteristically fresh approach to popular repertoire, with a unique survey of the musical voices of Bach. For this recording, the blend of violin & viola, and violin, viola & cello gives the music a completely new resonance.

The recording opens with 15 Two-Part Inventions BWV 772-788 , transcribed for violin and viola. Janine is joined by Maxim Rysanov, one of today's best and most charismatic violists.

The central work on the CD is a solo performance of Partita No. 2 in D minor. This grand solo Partita contains five movements: four traditional dances concluded by the monumental Chaconne.

The recording concludes with 15 Three-Part Inventions BWV 787-801, transcribed for violin, viola and cello. Cellist Torleif Thedeén, one of the most highly regarded Scandinavian musicians adds the third voice.

The new faces of opera present opera favourites in a glamorous live concert recording: Anna Netrebko, El?na Garan?a, Ramón Vargas and the highly acclaimed young French baritone Ludovic Tézier sing a wide range of Italian and French opera arias.

This recording features highlights from three gala concerts (28 & 31 July, 3 August 2007) at Baden-Baden’s Festspielhaus.

The CD features the four young stars performing duets and the popular quartet ‘Bella figlia dell’amore’ from Rigoletto. Other highlights include Delibes’ famous flower duet from Lakmé for which Anna and El?na are the heaven-sent dream team! (Remember the British Airways TV spot with this music?!)

It is like having Christmas and Easter on one day to catch these young star artists in a single concert program, since they are all in great demand at international opera houses and concert halls. Tickets for all three concerts were sold out in just a few days.

This is a strictly LIMITED EDITION.

‘This present reissue with Previn and the LSO dates from 1972 yet the sound and balance are superb and there is nothing to cloud or impede one’s sense of Ashkenazy’s greatness in all these works….Previn works hand in glove with his soloist. Clearly, this is no one-night partnership but the product of the greatest musical sympathy, of a mutual skill and affection.’ Gramophone

‘Ashkenazy has made few more distinguished discs as conductor than these Rachmaninov symphony recordings of the early 1980s…. several shorter orchestral works in which Ashkenazy arguably has no peer, notably the Symphonic Dances and the Isle of the dead.’ Gramophone

VAUGHAN WILLIAMS: The Lark Ascending
TAVENER: Song For Athene
TAVENER: Dhyana
TAVENER: Lalishri (for solo violin and string orchestra)

A beautiful new recording of Vaughan Williams’ landmark work - coupled with two world premiere works by one of our great living composers, Sir John Tavener.

Violinist Nicola Benedetti presents her third recording for UCJ, combining the lyrical beauty of The Lark Ascending (Vaughan Williams’ aural portrait of a lark as it spirals up to the heavens), with two brand new works written specially for her by Sir John Tavener
Nicola’s previous two recordings (of the Szymanowski and Mendelssohn concertos) have been met with critical acclaim, and have made her the UK’s bestselling core classical artist

This recording includes two world premiere works by Sir John Tavener. Though he is one of England’s foremost composers, Tavener draws influence from cultures as diverse as Greek Orthodoxy, Hinduism and Sufism. Also featured is a premiere version for solo violin and strings of Song For Athene, the piece made famous by its performance at the funeral service of Princess Diana.
