One of Patrizio's heroes is Elvis Presley, whose hit Always On My Mind (Vives en mi Corazon) is performed on this album in Spanish, one of six languages that Patrizio speaks and sings fluently. Vittorio Grigolo is a name you'll be hearing a lot of. One of the most unbelievably talented tenors of his generation, he was born in Rome, and as a boy, sang with Pavarotti in a performance of Tosca , immediately winning the admiration of - which led to study with - the maestro. Sting reveals a secret love: 'The songs of John Dowland have been gently haunting me for over 20 years': now he has recorded a beautiful CD of songs by the Elizabethan composer John Dowland. It will be marketed, promoted, and distributed by Deutsche Grammophon. Sting not only sings the songs (accompanied by leading lutenist Edin Karamazov, who has appeared on two Andreas Scholl albums), but he also plays lute on an instrumental duet with Edin - and he reads short extracts from a fascinating autobiographical letter by Dowland. The album contains eleven songs, five instrumental pieces and seven spoken-word interludes (the latter with evocative musical and soundscape backgrounds). Total playing-time is around 50 minutes. 'For me they are 17th-century pop songs, and I relate to them in that way", Sting explains. 'They have beautiful melodies, fantastic lyrics and great accompaniments. I have every respect for this music.' Sting's last two albums have internationally sold almost 3 million copies each - and this will be the only new Sting release until late 2007. |

In March 1959 and May 1963, respectively, Vera Lynn and Kenneth McKellar - two of Decca's best-selling exclusive artists - went into the studio to record albums of nursery rhymes. Simply, but deliciously scored, with several touches of humour, the two collections were brought together by Decca in 1976 and issued as "The Wonderful World of Nursery Rhymes". A gatefold sleeve for the 1976 LP was commissioned and it included an illustration that encompassed all 54 nursery rhymes featured on the album. Now, for the first complete CD reissue of that LP, the same illustration is used and the original sequencing of the nursery rhymes retained. Additionally, the lyrics for all the nursery rhymes are printed in the booklet, ensuring that this becomes something of a collector's item as well as the perfect gift for the young at heart.
