SEASTORIES is Minnie Driver’s second album of original material. The twelve new songs were written by Driver and in addition to her ethereal vocals and lush guitars, feature performances from Ryan Adams and his backing band The Cardinals, indie queen Liz Phair, keyboardist Rami Jaffe (The Wallflowers/Foo Fighters), producer/guitarist Marc ‘Doc’ Dauer (Pete Yorn) and Zack Ray (Gnarls Barkley). SEASTORIES was mixed by recent Grammy® winner Jim Scott (Dixie Chicks/ Lucinda Williams/ Tom Petty).

The album kicks off with “Stars & Satellites” on which Minnie is joined by Ryan Adams’ backing band, The Cardinals. The song is a swelling ballad -- a bittersweet ode to lost love featuring Driver’s hushed vocals, a pedal steel and celestial imagery. In the refrain the singer reasons “if love is the answer you seek/you’re asking the wrong kind of questions.”

“Sorry Baby” is an affectionate apology to a heartbroken lover. The singer laments “I wish I could fake what you want”. Liz Phair’s backing vocals are unmistakable in this mellow rocker.

Ryan Adams makes an appearance playing guitar on the album’s third track “Beloved”. Adams’ signature country tinged style enhances this acoustic guitar and piano driven lullaby. Driver’s soothing vocals plead with her beloved: “why don’t you just stay here in the sun?”

“London Skies” is a delicate melody dedicated to the unconditional love between a parent and a child. The Latin flavor of “Mockingbird”, the country rock of “King Without A Queen”, and the bluesy ballad of “Cold Dark River” round out SEASTORIES.

Minnie Driver began her professional career as a singer and songwriter in a band signed to Island Records in the UK in the early ‘90s before embarking on a career as a successful actress. Driver was nominated for an Academy Award® for her role in Good Will Hunting and has appeared in numerous films including Circle of Friends, Grosse Point Blank, Sleepers, and The Phantom of the Opera, for which she sang an original song written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The song, entitled “Learn to be Lonely” was nominated for an Academy Award®. Driver was recently seen starring in the FX series The Riches opposite Eddie Izzard which has garnered an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
