TRACKLISTING THE VOICE IS BACK! Singing sensation Russell Watson is back with his fourth highly anticipated album Amore Musica! Since emerging on the music scene a few short years ago, Russell Watson has become one of its most popular artists. Each new recording is much anticipated by his fans. Amore Musica is certain to please those who already love the voice of Russell Watson, but this CD is likely to win him many new admirers too! Russell is truly excited to present this program of songs with lyrics by Diane Warren, Gary Barlow and Elliot Kennedy, who he believes to be the greatest songwriters in the world. 'All the songs are about love, music, peace, happiness and hope. That reflects the way I feel right now. It's a record to hold hands to. I want this record to be something that people think about affectionately. I've never generated as much passion in my lyrics. It's a different sound. It's not about Russell Watson and the way he sings it, it's about Russell Watson singing from the heart and I don't think I've ever done that before.' The music ranges from the swingy Amore e Musica , to the melodramatic Gladiatore , to the gorgeous Alchemist , a track with Lara Fabian. There's also the inspirational I Believe and the rousing You Raise Me Up . Throughout this variety of moods and emotions what is most palpable is that Watson has a different sound coming from a different place. His voice channels compassion, empathy and the certain knowledge that however low or however high you're feeling he's been there with you!

When her album, Careless Love, was released in Australia late last year it was greeted with a torrent of gushing reviews. Most raved about her smoke-and-whiskey vocals, often comparing her to the late, great Billie Holiday. The album immediately jumped into the Australian Top 20 jazz charts. 6 months later Careless Love is currently riding high at #5 and Madeleine is about to play her first ever Australian concerts. The album seamlessly weaves strands of acoustic blues, country ballads, torch songs and pop into a vibrant fabric that is both classically vintage and thoroughly up to date. Produced by Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin), the album features songs as old as W. C. Handy's bluesy title track, popularized by Bessie Smith in the late 1920s, and others as recent as Elliott Smith's folky Between the Bars . Peyroux also covers material as diverse as Hank Williams' Weary Blues and Leonard Cohen's Dance Me to the End of Love . But one of the album's standout tracks is the sultry Don't Wait Too Long , an original swing number composed by Peyroux, Klein and Grammy Award winning songwriter Jesse Harris, best known for his contributions to Norah Jones' 2002 hit album Come Away with Me. The new video for Don't Wait Too Long features Madeleine playing live-in concert and with footage echoing Madeleine's time as a street musician in Paris in her early twenties. Don't miss Madeleine when she tours Australia this month.

Double Bill with Wayne Shorter Quartet (USA) & the Paolo Fresu Quartet John Scofield Trio [USA] & Wayne Shorter Quartet [DOUBLE BILL] LINE UP With countless works now part of the standard jazz repertoire, WAYNE SHORTER has earned widespread respect as "the most important living composer in jazz." (The New York Times) From his work with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers through his years with Miles Davis, Weather Report and beyond, he has been a constant musical innovator and inspiration for younger musicians. His most recent recording features an all-star quartet comprised of some of today's most respected musicians: Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade. In recent years jazz fans have rejoiced over Shorter's return as bandleader to the concert stage playing both tenor and soprano saxophones in an acoustic quartet. Regarded as one of the most significant and prolific performers and composers in jazz and modern music; Wayne has an outstanding record of professional achievement in his historic career as a musician. He has received substantial recognition from his peers, including 6 Grammy Awards and 13 other Grammy nominations to date. Wayne received his first Grammy with his group Weather Report in 1979 for Best Jazz Fusion Performance on their album "8:30'. He received his 2nd Grammy in the category of Best Instrumental Composition in 1987, for " Call Sheet Blues" from the motion picture sound track "Round Midnight" The 3rd came in 1994 in the category of Best Jazz Instrumental Performance by a Group for "A Tribute to Miles". Most recently in 1997 he was awarded the Grammy for Best Contemporary Jazz Performance for "High Life" and he won the 1998 Grammy for Best Composition for "Aung San Suu Kyi" and finally in 2000 came the Grammy for Best Instrumental Solo for "In Walked Wayne". Born August 25, 1933 in Newark, NJ, he attended Art's High School and later graduated from New York University. He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958, after which he joined Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. His five years as one of Blakey's Messengers clearly established him as a newcomer to watch due to winning the number on "New Star Saxophonist" Downbeat poll for 1962. He came in 2nd place for "Best Composer" while Duke Ellington came in first. In 1964 Miles Davis invited Wayne to go on the road with his band which included Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams and Ron Carter. He stayed with Davis for 6 years, recording a dozen albums with him, creating a sound with a bandleader that changed the face of music during that tumultuous decade. In his autobiography, the late Miles Davis had this to say about the years Wayne was in his band..."Wayne is a real composer...he knew that freedom in music was the ability to know the rules in order to bend them to your satisfaction and taste..." In 1970 he formed Weather Report with Joe Zawinul and Miroslav Vitous. Through his solo career and his work with Weather Report, he helped to redefine the new hybrid of music, which came to be known as fusion or progressive music. During that period, Wayne won the Downbeat poll on Soprano Sax after 1969 for 15 to 17 years consecutively. With the 1985 release of his solo album "Atlantis" the New York Times called him "One of the most significant composers and individual saxophonists in jazz. He has received credit for Saxophone performances in the motion picture soundtracks "Glengarry Glen Ross" (1983), "The Fugitive" (1993), and "Loosing Isaiah" (1995). Wayne received the National Endowment for the Art's "American Jazz Master Award" in 1998, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the Berkeley College of Music in 1999. He recently was commissioned and wrote a piece for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Millenium Concert. Once again he was highly acclaimed by the critics. Through his musicianship and compositions Wayne has completely changed modern music, and influenced generations of countless other musicians and composers. Wayne Shorter's Bass player, John Patitucci will conduct a Master Class Upstairs at the Forum Melbourne. Master Class
