Luciano Pavarotti sings one of his most famous roles, in a traditional Met production of Donizetti's much-loved comic classic. Now available worldwide for the first time on Decca DVD.

Filmed in 1981, live from the Metropolitan Opera, Luciano Pavarotti sings Nemorino in Donizetti's comic opera. This was one of his most famous roles and here he sings it at the peak of his prime, joined by an all-star ensemble.

Kirk Browning's production is traditional and entertaining. Judith Blegen sings the role of Adina and the great comic baritone, Sesto Bruscantini, plays the wily Dr Dulcamara. Nicola Rescigno conducts.

Available for the first time on DVD, the complete opera of the classic 1980 production by Elijah Moshinsky of Verdi's Un ballo in maschera, filmed live from the Metropolitan Opera.

An all-star cast, led by Luciano Pavarotti at the height of his fame in one of his most celebrated roles. Joined by Katia Ricciarelli (Amelia), Judith Blegen (Oscar), Bianca Berini (Ulrica) and Louis Quilico (Renato). Conducted by Giuseppe Patane.
This was an eye-catching and thought-provkoing production. Moshinsky staged the action in pre-revolutionary 1774 Boston.

Extras include an interview with Luciano Pavarotti. There are also interviews with Ricciarelli and James Levine.

Cecilia Bartoli continues her tribute to female superstar Maria Malibran, with a double DVD to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of a Romantic icon.

DVD 1 features the Barcelona concert from the ongoing Maria album tour La Rivoluzione Romantica. The 80 minute programmed performed in the stunning Palau de la Musica Catalana features highlights from the Maria album, and includes Rossini’s Willow Song as a DVD exclusive.

DVD 2 features a fascinating 70 minute film Malibran Rediscovered , following Cecilia Bartoli as she researches the life of Maria Malibran and records the album, and a rare change to see Cecilia Bartoli as she prepares for the concert in Glimpses Backstage.

The DVD release is supported by the ongoing Maria album tour, including a special gala concert in Paris on 24th March 2008 , Maria Malibran’s 200th birthday.

Maestro Karajan focuses on the gentle, comforting aspect of the work, presenting it as a Requiem for the living.

Written for soprano and baritone solo, chorus and orchestra, the "German Requiem'' was performed for the first time in its entirety at the Leipzig Gewandhaus on 18 February 1869.
