GREATEST HITS BY THE GREATEST SINGER-SONGWRITER
AND ICON OF A GENERATION
The album GREATEST HITS marks the beginning of a creative partnership between DECCA and MORRISSEY which, in addition to this album, will see a brand new album released in late 2008.
GREATEST HITS is the ultimate solo career retrospective spanning the years 1988 to the present day, a period when Morrissey hit his commercial and artistic peak. The album features many classic Morrissey tracks such as Every Day is Like Sunday, the more recent hit Irish Blood, English Heart and the addition of two brand new songs That's How People Grow Up and All You Need Is Me. The leading lyricist of his generation, Morrissey's musical tributes to life in a rain-soaked Manchester, and his lyrics tinged with poignant observations on the social and cultural fabric of England all delivered with characteristic wit, inspired a generation of musicians. Since the disbanding of The Smiths in 1987, Morrissey's 20-year solo career has established him as one of the UK's greatest musical talents with a back catalogue of eleven albums.
