April Moon Bonus Track History Repeating Canadian crooner in the style of Michael Buble and Harry Connick Jr. Matt's debut album has sold Platinum in Canada and 'Back in Town' is already certified Gold in his home territory. The debut album 'Two Shots' had a mix of American classics as well as some contemporary tracks on it, including the tracked penned by Bono & The Edge 'Two Shots Of Happy, One Shot Of Sad' . Beautifully arranged works recorded in the famous Studio A of Capital Studios in LA . Along with big-band material drawn from the great American songbook, Back in Town features such contemporary pop songs as the incredibly catchy "All About Me" and the powerhouse title track, both given the chart-topping treatment from Chris Lord-Alge - one of the best known mix engineers in the world - with credits ranging from Green Day to Madonna. The big band material truly breaks new ground amongst the young crooners on the scene today - Much of the album was recorded in Los Angeles at the fabled Capitol Studios in Studio A - where the walls have resonated with the voices of such icons as Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dean Martin. And as if that magical setting wasn't enough, several renowned arrangers including Patrick Williams, Vince Mendoza, and Sammy Nestico were brought in to provide new charts to these classic numbers. In addition, 15-time Grammy Award winning engineer Al Schmitt (Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, Ray Charles) sat at the helm and recorded and mixed all the big band material. This ambitious project is bound to find a home with the cross-over, crooner fans, the critics, and the jazz fans across the country. MARKETING PLANS SBS advertised from mid August for 6 weeks. |
