André Rieu is the biggest selling artist in Australia and this super-budget priced box is released prior to his Mother’s Day promo visit, and to compete head-on with an envisaged 3CD set put out by a competitor.
It functions as a BEST-OF, but with tracks substantially different from those included on the best-selling 100 Most Beautiful Melodies released and marketed last year.
All tracks on CD1 and CD2 are updated, state of the art recordings of largely studio material of tracks that appear in arguably inferior performances on the competitor’s 3CD set.
While CDs 1 and 2 are played by the Johann Strauss Orchestra, CD3, with the Maastricht Salon Orchestra provides a glimpse of the very start of André’s recording career, with this small ensemble with which he made his beginnings. It has previously only been available through our indent service and is now included (at an equivalent 1/3 the price!) for the first time as a local item as CD3 of this boxed set.
